In the past I’ve made a roundup of microblogging client for Linux, but this one is so new that i did not talked about it.

Turses is a fork of a similar project Tyrs, the goal of both projects is to provide a twitter client on the terminal with the help of ncurses library, so why fork ? The fork has been initiated by Alejandro Gómez a few months ago after writing some patches for Tyrs, to be correct he did a lot of changes in Tyrs, my opinion is that Alejandro did so many changes that he wants to start his own project.

TurpialIn my post “6 microblogging client for Linux” I’ve received a comment about the software: Turpial.
Turpial is a client for Twitter and Identi.ca (only after the 1.4.X release) based on PyGTK, I’ve tested on my ubuntu 11.04 the version available in the development PPA for Ubuntu and so I’ve made the tests on Twitter and Identi.ca.

What I’ve liked of this program from the start it’s his simplicity, integration with the notification area (tested on XFCE) and the acoustic tweets when a new message arrive (but i suspect that in the long run I’d silence that), but now some details.

twi-ideAfter the social networks the new trend on the Net it’s the microblogging, choose your style: Twitter, identi.ca, Picotea or something else but at the moment this is a must for the internet addicted, or just for keeping in touch with all the news you are interested in or just with your friends.
So, while it’s always possible to use your favorite browser to keep in touch with all these messages, today we’ll see some Micro-blogging clients on Linux.
