Today we’ll take a quick look at some puzzle game for Linux.
Pushover is a platform puzzle game developed by Red Rat Software in 1992 for the Amiga, Atari ST, DOS and Super NES.
And there is a fresh and maintained remake released as GPL that work perfectly on Linux.
Atomic Worm has flown into the light.
It takes the snake genre to a new dimension.
Installation for the 3 games
The 3 games are available as source package on their official site, or are packaged on playdeb.net for different ubuntu release.
Use the following instructions:

Pushover is a game developed by Red Rat in 1992 and at the time it surprised by their distinctive sounds and visuals. In this game you control an impatient ant (try to leave it standing for a few seconds) called Colin Culy who lost a few bags of chips.
The playing field consists of a number of platforms, interconnected by ladders. Most of the platforms hold dominoes. The Ant can rearrange and move them, by carrying one domino at a time. He is allowed to push one domino, and this single push should result in all of the dominoes falling, which opens the exit to the next level.
There are various factors that can cause a level to not be completed. As well as toppling all of the dominoes in each of the 100 levels, Collin must be physically able to gain access to the exit door once the dominoes have fallen. If a ledge leading to the exit has been destroyed, or a gap leading to the exit has not been bridged, or if a line of dominoes lie across the exit, Collin will be unable to reach it.
To make the game more exciting some piece of the domino will have special features such as explode or split in two.
Atomic Worm it’s a reinvention of several classic arcade concepts, polished and presented through simple geometric forms.
As abstract as the game’s graphics might appear, the mechanic behind it all is still a familiar blend of catchy concepts. The Atomic Worm is a bit like Snake — it slithers through the playing field in search of tokens, which when consumed, lengthen your character. Your objective is to clear as many of these tokens as possible to earn points, which is done by eating three tokens of the same kind consecutively. After having acquired sufficient points, an exit appears which will lead you to the next level.
Atomic Worm needs version 2.3.2 of glibc or later and OpenGL hardware acceleration.
In this game you are inside a cube made up of numerous shells, with a maze etched on the surface of each shell.
Escape the cube by traveling through the mazes, including over cube edges, until you find an upward exit.
When you reach the red exit, you win.
Basically it’s maze game, on a cube, where you can return on your path, change it and try again..and again.
