LinuxariaIt seems almost incredible, but www.linuxaria.com has reached its first 100 articles, I take this opportunity to thank all those who followed and contributed to the success of the Blog, and also to make some statistic and publish the top 10 (for rating among the first 100 published articles) .

#10: INTRODUCTION TO LVS – Linux Virtual Server, LVS is an advanced load balancing solution for Linux systems. It is an open source project started by Wensong Zhang in May 1998. The mission of the project is to build a high-performance and highly available server for Linux using clustering technology, which provides good scalability, reliability and serviceability.

#5: 7 UNCOMMON USES OF IPTABLES – On the web there are plenty of guides related to iptables, the firewall included in all the latest Linux distributions.
iptables is a user space application program that allows a system administrator to configure the tables provided by the Linux kernel firewall (implemented as different Netfilter modules) and the chains and rules it stores. Different kernel modules and programs are currently used for different protocols; iptables applies to IPv4, ip6tables to IPv6, arptables to ARP, and ebtables as a special for Ethernet frames.

#2: WEBCAM SERVER ON LINUX – In these days all the new netbooks and most laptops have built-in webcam, or at least add one external costs very little, apart from the traditional use in video calls you can use our Linux box to create a monitoring device, it can be used to monitor your child while you are at another PC, or your pet while you are at work, or have a home-made video surveillance system for your properties.
To accomplish this we will use the software Motion, the software is present in many distributions, I will give commands using my Ubuntu 10.04.
