Change your Grub options with Grub Customizer

Edit the menu of grub is not the easiest thing to do, and if you do some mistakes there is the risk that you are not able anymore to boot into your Linux, for these reasons it’s usually suggested to use some tool to edit grub configurations, today I’ll show you Grub Customizer.

Grub Customizer is a graphical settings manager for GRUB2 and BURG that allows anyone to easily set the boot options.

Disclaimer: Grub Customizer should be a stable application, but you should be very careful when using it and be sure to know what you’re doing!
Messing with GRUB2/BURG can cause the system not to boot!

Secure Boot is a type of mechanism that verifies that the code executed is digitally signed. Thus the computer can only boot an operating system that has a bootloader properly signed. This is a requirement that Microsoft asked to put on computers the badge “Windows 8 Certified”. This request by Microsoft has split the waters among the major Linux distributions , find out why.

There are many reasons I prefer Linux. Near the top of the list is that I’m a tweaker. Someone who enjoys making changes and having things “My Way”, like the song by Frank Sinatra.

Linux has many configuration files, most of which “lurk” in the “/etc” folder. These files are used to configure the mounting of drives, network lists like what IP address goes with what computer name, passwords and admin access, application configuration and even what the boot menu looks like. “Under the Hood” Linux is highly customizable.
